For a bug, include your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, and what happened. A screenshot or the steps that caused it can help.
Getting started
- Choose a key and Major or Minor. Tap a chord to preview its sound and guitar shape.
- Hold briefly and drag a chord into the progression grid. You can also add the previewed chord with the plus button.
- Explore Next chords or Look ahead. Suggestions follow your placed chords and selected writing position; previewing a chord does not change them.
- Tap Play to hear the progression. Tap Stop to end playback, or turn on repeat to loop it.
How do I move or remove a chord?
Hold a placed chord briefly, then drag it to another position or onto the trash. Dropping on an occupied position inserts before it. To reach offscreen rows, hold near the top or bottom edge of the grid. Undo steps back through recent edits during the current app session. Edit also provides move and delete controls.
Can I save and share progressions?
Use the progression options menu to save a named copy, open your saved library, or share the chords as text. Swipe left on a saved entry to delete it. Saved progressions are local to this device; there is no account or app-managed cloud sync.
Deleting the app removes its local data. Share any progressions you want to keep before deleting it.
What do the guitar symbols mean?
Numbers inside dots are fingers. The number beside the neck identifies the starting fret. A circle means an open string; a cross means a muted string. Repeated finger numbers indicate a barre. Tap the diagram for alternate fingerings. Shapes use standard guitar tuning.
Why is there no sound?
Raise media volume and check whether audio is going to Bluetooth headphones or another device. Compare with the built-in speaker if playback feels delayed. After an audio interruption, tap Retry if it appears. If necessary, close and reopen the app. No microphone permission is needed.
Are suggestions rules I have to follow?
No. They offer possibilities based on harmonic relationships and recognized progression patterns. You can always choose from the chords in key or try another route. Optional theory explanations link to Wikipedia for further reading.
How do I report a crash or technical issue?
Tell us what you were doing and whether it happens again. About → Diagnostics lets you export local technical reports if you choose to share them with support. Review the export before sending it. The app does not automatically upload those reports to us; Apple's TestFlight and system crash reporting operate separately.
Requires an iPhone running iOS 17 or later.
